Miami Heat All Star Update: Dwayne Wade

[A Report from Lollipopnews.com]

Dwayne Wade Custody Battle

Today Miami Heat all-star, Dwayne Wade, was in a Chicago courtroom for round two of a messy custody hearing according to sources. He said– she said at its best. It’s going to be interesting to see how this custody case actually plays out. It’s rare that a judge will go against the court appointed opinion of the attorney representing the children. And, he is and already has been asking and fighting strongly for– Dwayne’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn, be ordered an evaluation ASAP. However, the judge denied the motion to force her to get a mental check up:/ This is so sad for all parties, especially the children. Check out the information being reported.

“Some people would say that,” the Miami Heat point guard responded when the lawyer for his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Wade, asked if he was a celebrity.
The occasional quips lightened the mood in a Daley Center courtroom where the testimony often delved into some ugly and personal matters.
On a second day on the witness stand, Wade told the judge he has feared for his two young son’s lives in the hands of his ex-wife, who attended most of the five-hour court session Monday but did not speak with reporters.
“I got really afraid because I realized Siohvaughn … is not the Siohvaughn I know now,” he said of his former high school sweetheart. “I thought that she probably took them away, that she probably hurt herself or the kids.”

Lester Barclay, the children’s court-appointed representative, is advocating that Wade be given sole custody. Barclay had sought a mental evaluation of Siohvaughn Wade, but the judge denied the request Monday, he said.

“I’ve been able to party a little more,” Wade said of life without full custody of his children.

He said if he’s awarded custody, he will make sure the children maintain a relationship with their mother.

“It’s always been my goal for both of us to make decisions for our kids,” Wade said.

But first, he said, she needs to get “healthy.”

“She needs to get help with her anger,” Wade said. “Her rage just shows a lot.”
